Lifeline:
13 11 14 for 24-hour confidential, crisis support and counselling with a professionally trained Crisis Support worker.

Victoria Police Wellbeing: 1300 090 995 for 24-hour support for all current and veteran Victoria Police employees.

TPAV Wellbeing: 03 9468 2600 for 24-hour support, critical incident advice and support and Legal and Discipline advice for Victoria Police union members.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

EAP programs are a free, independent and confidential counselling service available for Victoria Police employees and their immediate family members (partners and dependent children) to help manage any work or personal challenges that may affect their wellbeing.

With no referral required, you can contact the service directly to access sessions with a qualified clinician or counsellor:

TELUS Health - 1300 361 008 – up to 12 sessions available to TPAV members and their immediate family.

Acacia Connection – 1300 364 273 - 6-12 sessions available to all Victoria Police employees (current, former, sworn and VPS) and their immediate family for Victoria Police related issues.

TPAV Wellbeing Team

For union members, the TPAV Wellbeing Services team can assist with a range of supports, which includes:

·      Psychological support and referrals
·      WorkCover and PMO advice
·      Transition advice
·      Hospital benefits and Special Sick Leave
·      Sickness and Death benefits
·      Financial adversity and wills

Equipt

Developed by TPAV and Victoria Police, Equipt is a free resource available to members and their families. The mobile app includes a range of self-care tools to support physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. It offers practical strategies for managing stress, emotions, sleep, staying active, and maintaining a positive outlook.

Equipt
allows you to monitor your wellbeing over time and connects you with additional support if needed.

The app is confidential, available 24/7, and free to download from both the App Store and Google Play.

External Supports

Police Veterans Victoria (PVV)

PVV is a not-for-profit organisation that supports Victoria Police veterans and their families. Veteran Peer Support Officers (VPSO’s) are police veterans who are trained to provide confidential support and referral services to those that may be experiencing mental health issues including PTSD, depression, anxiety, social isolation, alcohol and substance abuse.


Retired Police Association (RPA)

For any former member of Victoria Police (retired or resigned) of good fame and character, whether retired through age, medical discharge or resignation. RPA Victoria offers the opportunity for Victoria Police employees to stay connected to the friends and colleagues met during service once they have left the organisation.


Victoria Police Legacy

A charitable not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of services to police families throughout Victoria who have suffered the loss of a loved one. Should a serving or retired police officer or PSO, or their spouse/partner pass away, Victoria Police Legacy is there to provide ongoing support to the spouse/partner and children.

Fortem Australa

Provides a range of support programs for first responders and their families, including free confidential counselling and psychology services, wellbeing and social activities such as workshops and virtual events, and career transition assistance to help individuals navigate different stages of their professional lives. They also leads the annual “Thank a First Responder Day” to recognise and celebrate the vital contributions of Australia’s first responders.

Beyond Blue

An Australian organisation dedicated to mental health and wellbeing. Beyond Blue offers support programs for people experiencing depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and other mental health challenges. Their trained counsellors provide a safe, confidential space to talk and find the right support for you.
