WorkCover & Provisional Payments
(Victoria Police members)
Psychological treatment through BlueHub can be funded by WorkCover and paid for by the insurer, Gallagher Bassett. To access this—such as covering the cost of treatment or receiving weekly income benefits—you'll need to complete a WorkCover Worker’s Claim Form and submit it to your employer. TPAV can assist you with this process and help guide you through each step.
Importantly, submitting a WorkCover claim does not mean you have to take time off work. You can make a claim solely for treatment and remain at work if that’s what you need.
Once your mental health claim is submitted, you will be eligible for provisional payments, which provides you with 13 weeks of fully-funded treatment regardless of the claim’s final outcome.
We want to reassure you that lodging a WorkCover claim for mental health treatment will not impact your career or professional standing in the future. Seeking help is a sign of strength—and support is here when you need it.
EarlyAccess & Comcare
(AFP members)
To ensure you can access support early, the AFP may fund BlueHub treatment for confirmed work-related mental health injuries or illnesses during the pre-claim period. As an AFP member, you are generally eligible for funding of up to six (6) assessment and treatment sessions through BlueHub while your Comcare claim is being assessed.
Under Comcare legislation, medical costs are not covered during the pre-claim period. However, if your claim is later accepted, these costs may be back paid and fully covered. EarlyAccess support means you don’t have to delay getting the help you need while waiting for a claim decision.

Medicare
(Victoria Police and AFP members)
BlueHub treatment can be partially funded through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), which you can obtain from your GP. This plan allows you to access up to 10 Medicare-subsidised sessions per calendar year with a registered mental health clinician.
However, please note that a gap fee will apply for each session, which is an out-of-pocket cost charged by your BlueHub clinician. The TPAV BlueHub team will discuss this with you in advance, so you know what to expect.
Private health and out-of-pocket
(Victoria Police and AFP members)
Additionally, BlueHub treatment can be funded through private health insurance, depending on your level of cover, or paid for out-of-pocket if you prefer not to claim through the other pathways.
The TPAV BlueHub team is available to discuss costs with you upfront, so you’ll have a clear understanding of any out-of-pocket expenses before you begin.

Don’t wait until you break
It’s okay to ask for help if you’re not feeling yourself. In fact, talking about trauma is the best way to start leaving it behind and moving on. Talking to our expert trauma clinicians will help you to recover sooner, or re-enter life feeling stronger.
